Upper Harz Mining Museum

The Upper Harz Mining Museum is a museum of technological and cultural history in Clausthal-Zellerfeld. It is one of the oldest technological museums in Germany and concentrates on the history and presentation of mining in the Upper Harz up to the 19th century. It was founded in 1892 and has since been visited by more than 5.5 million people.

Market Church

The Baroque building is made of pine and oak timbered church with a 2,200 seating capacity making it the largest wooden church in Germany. Off particular interest inside the church is the huge organ and the large altar.

Glashütte

The glass factory is in the former 17th century coin mint and is home now to glass engravers, glass cutters and glass makers. You can watch this 2000 year old craft first hand and try the art of glass blowing yourself.
